Michelle Obama Speaks to Greater DC Cares

First lady Michelle Obama emphasized the importance of volunteering to more than 500 local charitable leaders Tuesday at the annual philanthropy summit of Greater D.C. Cares, a nonprofit that connects volunteers with nonprofit organizations.

“I’m here simply to say thank you for the work that you’ve done and to help celebrate all of your accomplishments, the work that you’ve done to make D.C. a truly wonderful community," she said. "It’s been so nice to call this city our second home.” WBJ
