Obama to Withdraw 30K Troops From Afghanistan by 2012 End

Update June 22: Obama will speak at 8 pm eastern time. It will be on your TVs and live streamed.

Obama's speech will take place tomorrow at the White House in the evening. No time announced yet. The drawdown will begin in July.
President Barack Obama is expected to announce this week that 30,000 U.S. "surge" forces will be fully withdrawn from Afghanistan by the end of 2012, an administration official has told CNN. Obama will deliver his highly anticipated speech on the troop drawdown on Wednesday.
An estimated 100,000 U.S. troops are currently serving in Afghanistan, some 30,000 of which are part of the so-called surge ordered in late 2009 in a bid to control the rising violence.
