Stewart demonstrates how a rigid mind (O'Reilly's) only sees things from one point of view.

The 48 Times O'Reilly Interrupted Obama Video
Watch the original interview here -- O'Reilly actually interviews himself because after he questioned Obama, he added his own take. This video is kind of funny:

O'Reilly, Everyone Knows Obama Likes Football
Poor O'Reilly. In a 14-minute interview with Obama at the White House prior to the Super Bowl, O'Reilly's frantic line of questioning and editorializing after Obama answered the questions was a missed opportunity. Heck, I would've done a better job.
He asked Obama the same old questions: What's the worst part about being president, what surprised you? Those questions have been asked over and over again. O'Reilly editorialized on Egypt. It's supposed to be an interview with POTUS. O'Reilly said most people think of Obama as a big spending liberal. Clearly, O'Reilly sees the world only through Fox News.
Obama was cool as a cucumber per usual as O'Reilly spilled all over himself.
Obama managed to squeeze in "win the future."
Lastly, O'Reilly asked if Obama knew football. Geez.
Eats and drinks at Obama's Super Bowl party.

Obama to do Pre-Super Bowl Interview with O'Reilly
Sources tell Mediaite that Bill O’Reilly has landed an exclusive pre-game interview with President Barack Obama scheduled to air on the Fox Broadcasting Channel before the Super Bowl. This will mark only the second time that Obama has sat down with Fox News — his first was last year with Bret Baier. But its the first time that Obama will participate with Mr O’Reilly as a sitting president (though O’Reilly did interview Obama in the later stages of his presidential candidacy.) Mediaite

Newt: Of Course Obama is a Socialist
What's funny about this video is Newt Gingrich is arguing with Bill O'Reilly. Newt it so far out there on his opinion of Obama, but I guess that's what it takes to win over conservatives. That and turning Catholic.
Newt is usually more tempered on regular TV shows, like Meet the Press or the networks. He usually plays to his Fox audience when he's on Fox. Newt is an old-time politician.

Palin's Fox Debut
Sarah Palin apparently didn't make a very big splash during her debut:
Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy
Palin is doing "news analysis." I still can't stand the way she puts words together. It's as if there is a little person inside of her mind scrambling around, holding up signs for her to read. O'Reilly tries to get her to say let's bomb, bomb, bomb Iran. Why didn't O'Reilly ask her the difference between North and South Korea? Why didn't he ask her policy questions? She does indeed admit that she asked questions about Iraq's connections to 9-11 (none). She is right about one thing, most Americans don't care about the kind of crap in Game Change.

O'Reilly Questions Obama's Commander in Chiefness
O'Reilly asks if Obama is Commander in Chief enough. Bother. Republicans like their war and their war speeches to be zesty and full of spunk and verve-- Cheney type passion. War is their dope. I don't understand war mongers. Obama's speech was somber and fitting for sending troops off to war.

Sarah Palin on Her Presidential Qualifications
Bill O'Reilly asks Sarah Palin if she's qualified to be president.
Palin responds in her usual circular and upside down fashion, but ultimately she says she is qualified because she doesn't have an elite education.
Any education would do, Sarah.
Ya gotta hand it to Palin, though. She doesn't know much, but her ego doesn't let that stand in the way. I want some of what she's got.

O'Reilly Appears on The View as a Vampire
Bill O'Reilly says he doesn't have a point of view. Ha! O'Reilly says he sent Obama a fruit basket because Fox's ratings are up. Who cares. O'Reilly: "He's fighting us harder than the taliban." Hardly, but makes for good TV. When you think about it, what does the White House lose in opposing Fox? Nada. The White House isn't just aiming at Fox. They're aiming at bad journalism. Today, it took aim at the AP.

Faux Christians Uptight About Muslim Day of Prayer in DC
I wondered why the wingnuts were talking about Obama "canceling" the National Day of Prayer, which was in May. They were upset because Muslims had organized a day of prayer in D.C. on Friday and linked the two together. Back to the whole Obama is a secret terrorist Muslim thing. But Obama didn't organize the event.
Obama didn't cancel National Day of Prayer either. It just went low key. Wingnuts all around the world abuse religion and it's no wonder that more people are turning toward atheism, spirituality and humanism or agnostic. I can't wait until this era of American stupidity is finally over. Now that Limbaugh and Beck are getting mainstream attention, getting gigs on the Jay Leno show and scoring time with Katie Couric, that may have the effect of shining the light on the cockroach. This is like the final showdown. The wingnuts are kicking and screaming on their way out.

Obama Says Some Are Racist
President Barack Obama on Friday acknowledged that some Americans don’t like him because of the color of his skin — but argued that the vast majority of his political opponents simply disagree with him on the merits of the issues.Obama, always the grown up. He says health care has become a proxy for worries that government is getting too big and that we don't have to assume the worse of people's motives. Conflict is catnip to the media. Preview of Obama on Face the Nation:
He offered that same answer – virtually word for word — to questions about race posed by some of the five Sunday show anchors he sat down with Friday at the White House.
To George Stephanopoulos of ABC’s “This Week,” Obama said, “Are there some people who don’t like me because of my race? I’m sure there are. Are there some people who voted for me only because of my race? There are probably some of those too.” Read more at Politico.
George S. previews his sit down with Obama here. Obama acknowledges that some people are frightened of government.
CNN preview:
Obama is doing five shows this weekend except for Fox. It's probably pointless to do Fox. Fox viewers who want to see Obama can tune to another station.
Bill O'Reilly is upset about that. So O'Reilly stokes the fire about the new missile defense strategy. O'Reilly also says he's not supporting a public option, contrary to what the left has been saying.
Chris Wallace says Obama's people are the "biggest bunch of cry babies." Like that's going to get you an interview.
O'Reilly and Wallace illustrate why Obama's probably not doing Fox. Watch it here.

McCaskill on Bill O'Reilly Show
The way Sen. Claire McCaskill managed that "town hall" yesterday was amazing. She has the chops to be a future president. McCaskill has sense, she's smart, she's fiscally conservative and she has communication skills. She's able to work with disparate groups of people.

O'Reilly on the Pirates
Bill O'Reilly and his kind (Rush, Hannity, Beck...) are narrow thinkers. They don't realize bigger problems and solutions. They only see what they see and the only react to what they see. They have small vision and kneejerk responses.
O'Reilly predictably pokes fun at the "loons" on the left who are looking at the bigger problem: Why are there Somali pirates? Realistically and pragmatically, if we can address that question, we can find better solutions. Poverty is often the bigger picture problem, even here in the U.S. No one is saying that excuses criminal activity. They're just looking at the problem from a higher level of thinking, finding the root of the problem. People aren't pirates just to be pirates. People don't cross the border of Mexico just to break the law.
Everyone is trying to make a living and if they can't, sometimes that leads to criminal action. It's amazing what happens to morality when you're faced with the threat of extinction. But folks on the right like to view these things in the simplistic Us vs. Them, right vs. wrong, good vs. evil, because of small thinking.
This kind of thinking holds us back from progress.
O'Reilly also calls the right's criticism that Obama is encouraging piracy "absurd." He happens to be right about that.

Roger Ebert Takes on Bill O'Reilly
....Your column ran in our paper while it was owned by the right-wing polemicists Conrad Black (Baron Black of Coldharbour) and David Radler. We dropped it to save a little money after they looted the paper of millions. Now you call for an advertising boycott. It is unusual to observe a journalist cheering for a newspaper to fail. At present the Sun-Times has no bank debt, but labors under the weight of millions of dollars in tax penalties incurred by Lord Black, who is serving an eight-year stretch for mail fraud and obstruction of justice. We also had to pay for his legal expenses.
There is a major difference between Conrad Black and you: Lord Black is a much better writer and thinker, and authored a respected biography about Roosevelt, who we were founded to defend. That newspapers continue to run your column is a mystery to me, since it is composed of knee-jerk frothings and ravings. If I were an editor searching for a conservative, I wouldn't choose a mad dog. My recommendation: The admirable Charles Krauthammer.
Bill, I am concerned that you have been losing touch with reality recently. Did you really say you are more powerful than any politician?... Read the whole thing here.

Bill O'Reilly on The View March 30
O'Reilly doesn't Twitter because he says he has to think. No comment. O'Reilly, like many, still think people on Twitter are telling others what they're eating for lunch. If they are, they might be sharing a recipe. You can't understand Twitter until you actually get on and actively participate. You have to add a photo as step No. 1 and you have to find your thing. You have to figure out -- what is your Twitter voice? Mine is easy - what's going on in the Obama administration.
Twitter is like a community, one that you create. As in any community, you get to know who's who and who cares about what.
He calls the BlackBerry a blueberry.
Part 2. Joy asks if O'Reilly is jealous of Limbaugh. O'Reilly shuts Elisabeth down. That was pretty sweet.
