Obama: Cheney's Philosophy Breeds Anti-American Sentiment

Indeed. Dick Cheney is a horrible scurrilous mole, especially since he outright said that the country isn't safe under Obama. Obama talks about Cheney and Geithner -- he's staying -- on 60 Minutes tomorrow.
Swamp: President Barack Obama has an answer for former Vice President Dick Cheney's contention that the new president has put the nation at greater risk with his plans to close the detention center at Guantanamo Bay and prohibit torture of prisoners:

"How many terrorists have actually been brought to justice under the philosophy that is being promoted by Vice President Cheney? It hasn't made us safer,'' Obama says in an interview with CBS News' 60 Minutes airing Sunday evening. "What it has been is a great advertisement for anti-American sentiment."
As far as rolling Geithner's head:
In the interview taped at the White House, Obama also addresses criticism for his Treasury Secretary, Timothy Geithner, suggesting that resignation is not a consideration.

Were Geithner to tender his resignation, the president says, he would tell him, "Sorry, buddy, you've still got the job."

CBS' 2008 in Review Video

The best part of 2008, the only shiny part of 2008 that I can think of at this moment, is the election of Barack Obama, which makes the prospects for 2009 exciting.

A look back from 60 Minutes:

Obama on 60 Minutes Video Nov. 16

Update: 24 million people watched, the highest audience for 60 Minutes since 1999.
Great interview. A sober and funny Obama.

The personal transition

More on the dog, which won't be coming to the White House until Winter or Spring, after they get settled.
