Dubai is Greed on Steroids

I'm beginning to feel like a very smart person. I didn't fall for Bush-Cheney's weapons of mass destruction and I absolutely knew that the economy would explode simply because people were using their houses like ATM machines. I looked around at my neighbors and knew they were deep in debt. It took a person of strong character to not play Keeping up With the Joneses. Dubai? Monstrosity at the get go. I'm smart but I'm not that smart. Smarter people should've known that Dubai would meltdown. I think people did know but as usual, they were so overcome with greed and the prospect of making money.

Dubai Plans Refrigerated Beach

It seems to me as though Dubai, one of the Arab Emirates, could spontaneously combust. The flagrant misuse of wealth there makes it a target of greed and ultimately, demise. The U.S. economy, after all, was brought to its knees essentially because of greed. Dubai is like greed times 100. So it seems to me anyway.

TP: Dubai is planning to construct the world’s first refrigerated beach. A system of heat-absorbing pipes and giant wind blowers will “keep tourists cool in the searing 40-50C heat.” Soheil Abedian, president of Palazzo Versace hotel that will be home to the refrigerated beach, said: “We will suck the heat out of the sand to keep it cool enough to lie on.
