Colin Powell on Meet the Press Jan. 13

Update Jan. 14: Marco Rubio says Powell is wrong about the republican party. The irony here is that Rubio will probably be sunk by the bigotry of his own party if he keeps talking about immigration reform.

Colin Powell: This isn't the McCain or the Romney administration. The people voted for Obama, making it clear that they don't want to be involved in wars. Gregory asks Powell what makes him a republican. Powell, calling out the rampant bigotry in the republican party, says there is a "dark vein of intolerance in some parts of the (republican) party." He noted Palin's phrase of "shucking and jiving," calling Obama "shiftless" and "lazy" are all racist remarks. He called out senior republican leaders for tolerating birtherism.
