In Mitt's I-Won-Florida speech (he shouldn't have been boasting given his competitors & how much he spent relative to his competitors), he says republicans needn't worry about the primary, that attacks will only make him better. So here is Newt making Mitt better -- he wants the poor to have a trampoline instead of a safety net. Newt also says "It's okay to go to work. It's part of being an American" and goes on about Obama, the "food stamp" president. Rich guys don't appear to understand how the biggest recession in our history -- handed off to Obama -- created the newly poor and how our economic system might be tweaked to move more people out of poverty.
Also, I'm just not buying the notion that republicans care about poor people. Their philosophy has always been to help the rich get richer so they can trickle down their riches.
