Obama's Olive Branch to Catholic Church

Liberal media, conservative media and the Catholic Church are all very offended by the new rule that requires employers to provide insurance that covers contraceptives. I don't quite understand why they're so offended. Churches are exempt. Hospitals and universities with a religious affiliation aren't exempt, however. But the new regulation doesn't say a doctor has to prescribe birth control or that someone has to use birth control, only that the employer's healthcare insurance needs to offer contraceptive coverage. If ever an issue was driven by the media, this one is it. A new study says 6 in 10 Catholics don't agree with the Catholic Church. I'd bet most Americans aren't bothered by the new rule either. Birth control is part of living in the modern world.
Jay Carney today seemed to suggest Obama would tweak the rule.
