Obama's Schedule in Burma and Cambodia Nov. 19

Obama arrives in Myanmar

Amnesty International reports that Myanmar released 450 political prisoners on the eve of Obama's visit.

From the White House:

In the morning, the President will depart Bangkok, Thailand en route Rangoon, Burma. The departure from Don Mueang International Airport and the arrival at Yangon International Airport will be open press.

Later in the morning, the President will meet with President Thein Sein of Burma. There will be a travel pool spray at the bottom of the meeting with statements.

In the afternoon, the President will meet with Aung San Suu Kyi, General Secretary of the National League of Democracy, at her residence. This meeting is closed press.

Afterwards, the President and Aung San Suu Kyi will deliver remarks at the residence. These remarks will be pooled press.

Later in the afternoon, the President will meet and greet with United States Embassy personnel at the United States Embassy. This visit is closed press.

The President will then deliver remarks at the University of Yangon. The President’s remarks are open press.

Later, the President will depart Rangoon, Burma en route Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The departure from Yangon International Airport and the arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport will be open press.

In the evening, the President will be welcomed by Prime Minister Hun Sen at the Peace Palace and then meet with the Prime Minister. The arrival will be pooled press and the meeting will be closed press.

The President will then attend the US-ASEAN leaders meeting at the Peace Palace. There will be a travel pool spray for the family photo of the leaders and at the top of the meeting.

Later, the President will arrive at Diamond Island Convention Center and be welcomed to the East Asian Summit Dinner. There will be pre-set pool coverage of the arrival.

The President will then participate in the East Asia Summit Dinner. There will be a travel pool spray at the dinner.

The President will remain overnight in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
