I don't watch or read Rachel Maddow near enough because I try not to take in too much "liberal" media. But she's got to be the smartest person in news. I'm almost convinced she's beyond a liberal media slant.
Maddow talks about how the conservative media appeals to fear by telling people that they are The Way and that everyone else is out to get them. Which makes sense, because being conservative is about being fearful, so conservative media has to appeal to conservatives' desire to feel safe.
