Obama speaks tonight around 6 pm eastern at a Let Freedom Ring event in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King. Michelle Obama will also attend the concert that features a choir and India Arie. The event is at the Kennedy Center.
President Barack Obama was set to spend much of Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebrating the civil rights leader's life and legacy.
Following a Monday morning meeting with senior advisers, the president and first lady Michelle Obama planned participate in a public-service event.
Later at the White House, Obama was scheduled to host a conversation with a small group of African American seniors and their grandchildren on the legacy of the civil rights movement. MSNBC
