Conspiracist Jerome Corsi on His New Book

Conspiracist Jerome Corsi, who wrote an Obama hate book, takes a moment to brag about how he's got 2 books in print--at the same time! Keep in mind, this guy is a wingnut on the level of Orly Taitz. At the heart of his discontent is a hatred of Muslims. He is a birther and perpetuated the wingnut belief that Obama was born in Kenya. He also comes off as a simpleton and a terribly boring speaker:

Elisabeth Hasselbeck Offers up More Obama Smears

Barbara Walters suggests that the women of The View stop slinging mud but Elisabeth Hasselbeck is a full-fledged wingnut. She really needs to step out of mainstream media -- Fox is her place -- because she's bought the right wing extreme train of thought, which is Obama is a radical terrorist. I kid you not. These people are nutty. Check out this site to see what they all read. Jerome Corsi, author of an anti Obama book, went to Kenya to prove that Obama is a secret Muslim and has secret ties with Kenyan government. No kidding. Back to Elisabeth. Seriously, a republican point of view on the show is worthy but Elisabeth is a bit extreme. The View could do better. 

Hate Monger Corsi Detained in Kenya

Jerome Corsi, wingnut hero and Obama hater, has been detained in Kenya for not having a work permit and may be deported. He had the audacity to go to Kenya to promote his anti-Obama book. Kenya is where Obama's father was born. Corsi, who may as well wear a white sheet, is the bottom of the barrel. The McCain party has become the ugly party and this is what they're promoting and encouraging.

AP: NAIROBI, Kenya - The American author of a best-selling book attacking Barack Obama as unfit for the presidency was being deported from Kenya on Tuesday, a criminal investigations official said.

Jerome Corsi, who wrote "The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality," was picked up by police Tuesday for not having a work permit, said Carlos Maluta, a senior immigration official in charge of investigations.

He was briefly detained at immigration headquarters before being brought to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for deportation, said Joseph Mumira, head of criminal investigations at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

It was not immediately clear when he would fly out. A message left on Corsi's mobile phone was not returned.

Obama spokesman Bill Burton said the campaign had no comment.

Corsi had been scheduled to launch his book Tuesday in Kenya, where the Democratic U.S. presidential candidate is wildly popular. Obama's late father, whom he barely knew, was a Kenyan economist and the candidate is considered by many Kenyans as a native son. Minibuses are emblazoned with his picture and vendors sell T-shirts bearing his image.

FactCheck Touches Obama's Birth Certificate

This rumor -- that Obama wasn't born in the US -- has been rampant on all the hate sites and Jerome Corsi's new book of lies also pushes the lie, which is now proven beyond doubt that it's false. Well, at least in reality. Some people live in their small worlds where anything can be true if they say it enough. 

Factcheck picked up the original and felt it and took pictures with it. I checked in with the hate mongers and fear not, they STILL are chewing on this lie (it's even filed as "conspiracy") and they have plenty of other outlandish stuff to please themselves. 

FactCheck: In June, the Obama campaign released a digitally scanned image of his birth certificate to quell speculative charges that he might not be a natural-born citizen. But the image prompted more blog-based skepticism about the document's authenticity. And recently, author Jerome Corsi, whose book attacks Obama, said in a TV interview that the birth certificate the campaign has is "fake."

We conclude that it meets all of the requirements from the State Department for proving U.S. citizenship. Claims that the document lacks a raised seal or a signature are false. McCain hasn't released his birth certificate but Obama did.

If you suspect Obama's birth certificate isn't real after you've looked at nonpartisan facts, then you should explore the real reasons why you doubt the truth. What are the real reasons you dislike Obama? Admit to those and get on with your life. There is a truth and if you choose to be fooled, you choose to be exploited.

McCain to Announce Vice President on His Birthday

Politico says he's going to announce the day after Obama's acceptance speech to try and steal some thunder. Good move. Politico also says McCain's testing the waters for a pro-choice candidate, Tom Ridge, perhaps. Wonder how Pastor Rick would feel about that.

Politico: MCCAIN VEEP ANNOUNCEMENT A WEEK FROM FRIDAY (unless he pulls a fast one on his staff): The senator plans to celebrate his 72nd birthday by naming his running mate at a huge rally in the battleground state of Ohio on Aug. 29 – the morning after the Obama stadium spectacular. The campaign has begun building a crowd of 10,000 for Dayton, Ohio, and McCain is scheduled to appear with his running mate at a large-scale event in Pennsylvania shortly thereafter (perhaps the next day).

McCain friends emphasized that he talks about the decision with almost no one, and could even change the announcement plans and go sooner. 'McCain views this as the one decision that he has total, utter, nonnegotiable control over,' one campaign official said. But the strategy calls for an early-morning announcement to try to suppress Obama's bounce coming out of his convention. 'You're going to own the weekend,' a McCain official said.

In other republican news, the respectable ones are getting angry at the wingnuts like Jerome Corsi:

And while it's legitimate to take into account Obama's past associations with people like the Reverend Jeremiah Wright–especially for someone like Obama, about whom relatively little is known–it wrong and reckless to throw out unsubstantiated charges and smears against Senator Obama.

ABC's Jake Tapper Defends Jerome Corsi

This is bias at work. 

Jake Tapper is on my anti-Obama biased media list (in my sidebar). It's interesting to read his blog because he always manages to taint the news. 

Today, he manages to defend Corsi. It's almost like he's working out a personal vendetta against Obama and he reaches today. He didn't start out covering the campaign that way. It morphed. Perhaps it draws more readers. Perhaps he was a Hillary supporter.

Reading the comments, it looks like there are many people who don't see Jerome Corsi as a dangerous man. 

To me, it doesn't seem anyone should be defending a noted bigot. It seems Corsi should be publicly humiliated. Tapper should be as well for validating Corsi. 

I wouldn't even pick up Corsi's book, knowing that the man who wrote it is a bigot and has an agenda. But to defend it, to SEEK a grain of truth within the book, that's despicable. 
A little on Corsi:

Actually, it's a little darker than that. Corsi doesn't just belong to the right's conspiratorial wing, he belongs to its racist, white-supremacist fringe. Over the last couple of years, he's written disparagingly about Muslims, Catholics and Jews, not to mention gays and lesbians. Muslims are "ragheads," the pope is "senile" and tolerates "boy bumping," and Jews ... well, you can imagine. Corsi looked beleaguered but respectable this week when he appeared on CNN's "Larry King Live," but it would be far more instructive if his prospective readers could hear him Sunday, when he's scheduled to appear on "The Political Cesspool," a "pro-white" radio program that endorses the so-called neo-Confederate movement's belief that secession is the right of every American state, promotes the notion that "the United States is a Christian nation" and "opposes all efforts to mix the races of mankind."

Let's see ... Barack Obama's father was ... and his mother was ... hmmm.

Hawaii Health Rejects Corsi on Obama Birth Cert

This rumor, that Obama's birth certificate is forged, is rampant at places like freerepublic.com, and bigot Jerome Corsi's new book gives it more life. Corsi needs to be publicly shamed for being so ignorant. I wonder why he feels so threatened by Obama? Could it be the whole white supremacy thing? 

We can't be a nation that caters to the lowest common denominator anymore.

Corsi replied: "No, it's a -- there's been good analysis of it on the Internet, and it's been shown to have watermarks from Photoshop. It's a fake document that's on the website right now."

In an August 13 article, The Honolulu Advertiser reported that Hawaii Department of Health spokeswoman Janice Okubo said that her office contacted the Obama campaign to find a solution to the repeated requests for Obama's birth certificate. She reportedly said that the Obama campaign "responded and apparently it isn't good enough that he posted his birth certificate."

The only people who are buying his smear book are people who need to validate their Obama hate. Jerome Corsi is a noted bigot. The sad, sad part about this book is that there are people ignorant enough to believe it and that it's getting widespread attention, which lines Corsi's pockets and affirms his bigotry.

Republicans Smear To Win-Obama Supporters Work

The new Obama attack book is all the rage and the media is in a tizzy. Will Obama be swiftboated by the swiftboater?

But what folks don't know, is while the republicans and their agents smear for political gain, Obama supporters are on the ground making posters, talking to voters, getting voters registered, creating art, painting barns, showing support, holding weekly meetings, talking about issues and getting involved.

See the difference between the two groups?

One group thinks it can win by attacking the other, spreading lies and starting rumors. The republicans have even gone after Obama supporters, calling them Kool-Aid drinkers and mindless. Juvenile. But it's been called their best chance to win, which doesn't say much about what they have to offer.

Their message: Only the misinformed sheep could vote for Obama. He's just an "empty suit." Believe me, I get the emails. They don't like their candidate, so they just throw stones at the other guy.

The other group has its head down, is huddled around kitchen tables, living rooms and Obama offices around the country, working to get the message out, signing up voters, spreading information and above all, saying something positive. I don't know about you, but I'd rather be with the group that has a positive message and wants to get things done.
