Students in Georgia Promote Integrated Prom
The feel good story of the day. It seems the younger people of the world today have a sort of collective intelligence that reaches beyond academics. This is why the GOP has a lot of work to do.
On on another note, who would've thought there were still some high schools in America throwing white and black proms?

Obama's Statement on the Texas Fertilizer Plant Explosion
Apparently, the plant hadn't been inspected since 1985.
Today our prayers go out to the people of West, Texas in the aftermath of last night’s deadly explosion at a fertilizer plant. A tight-knit community has been shaken, and good, hard-working people have lost their lives. I want to thank the first responders who worked tirelessly through the night to contain the situation and treat the wounded. My Administration, through FEMA and other agencies, is in close contact with our state and local partners on the ground to make sure there are no unmet needs as search and rescue and response operations continue. West is a town that many Texans hold near and dear to their hearts, and as residents continue to respond to this tragedy, they will have the support of the American people.

In full:
Three of those lawmakers — Sens. Mark Pryor of Arkansas, Max Baucus of Montana, and Mark Begich of Alaska — face competitive re-election races in deep-red states next year. The fourth, Sen. Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota, was elected to her first Senate term in 2012. More at Business Insider

Today With President Barack Obama April 11
Dear Readers,
I've kept this blog going daily since 2008, and as some of you have noticed, I have been absent. Since my absence (tending to something that needed my full attention) I've had the mind to mull things over. I'm not finding much joy in politics anymore, and therefore, it's time for a hiatus. I'm not calling it quits, but the time is right to take a break. It may only be for a few days. But it's likely to be longer.
Feel free to check out the links in my sidebar. It leads you to speeches, photos, video, even Obama's daily schedule. My RebelMouse site is pretty good for photos, videos and what not. It's automatically updated.
Know that I wholeheartedly believe Obama is the greatest POTUS of my lifetime. I'll miss the action. Or maybe not.
