18,000 people die each year because they don't have healthcare. That makes me want to line the republicans up and kick them in the shins and ask: What are you thinking?
John Boehner says American people don't want healthcare. I have no idea who he's talking about. Tea partiers DON'T represent America. Republicans' healthcare bill costs an extradorinary amount of money for not much of anything:

AARP Endorses Healthcare Bill Amid Tea Party Protest
As republicans align and merge with the tea party and protest healthcare at the Capitol, AARP endorses the healthcare bill.
Video of AARP's announcement (which isn't up yet, as of 2 pm eastern):
The world's largest senior lobby, AARP, on Thursday endorsed the health-care bill pending in the U.S. House, saying it improves benefits for seniors and ensures they will get "the doctors they need when they need them."Obama also popped into Robert Gibbs press conference to endorse the endorsement. I'll post video when it's up.
AARP's endorsement marks the first time the lobby has put its weight behind a comprehensive health-care overhaul bill. The House is expected to vote on the bill as soon as Saturday.
AARP Chief Executive Barry Rand, speaking while surrounded by more than 50 boxes that include 1.5 million AARP member petitions supporting health-care reform, according to AARP, praised the legislation for placing strict limits on how much more insurance companies can charge seniors based on age and closing the Medicare prescription drug gap. Obama's Virtual AARP Town Hall Live Stream
Obama answered a lot of rumors from people who are afraid their health care is going to get taken away or get worse. A lot of older people are susceptible to email and Internet rumors. Right wingers target older people with fear tactics because they know that older people are vulnerable and easily scared when it comes to health care.
Obama says he got a letter from a woman who said she didn't want government running her healthcare and to leave her Medicare alone! Funny stuff. Some people don't even realize Medicare is a government program.
Today at 1 pm eastern, Obama will hold a virtual town hall with AARP. I'm sure you can guess the topic. Watch it here:
July 29, at 4 pm, Obama will hold another town hall in Bristol, Virginia at a Kroger supermarket.

McCain Goes Against AARP
WaPo: It would seem to be a Mom-and-apple pie pledge: "I commit to help end gridlock by working across party lines to develop and support common-sense, bipartisan solutions on health care and financial security."M
While Sen. Barack Obama chose to agree with that statement for a "voters' guide" survey conducted by AARP The Magazine, John McCain did not. He simply left it blank (PDF).
In fact, McCain chose not to check any statements in the survey, which asked whether he opposed or supported policy proposals on health care, long-term care, Social Security and retirement security. Obama answered ten out of 11 questions -- each of which happened to exactly match the position of the lobbying group, once known by its full name of the American Association of Retired Persons. Obama declined to take a position on whether he supports or opposes a limit on Medicare beneficiaries' out-of-pocket costs. (AARP supports the idea.)
