After the town hall, Obama visited MLK Charter school. Read about his visit here.
Update Oct 20: Full New Orleans video:

At the town hall Bobby Jindal was seriously booed but Obama gave Jindal props, calls him a "hard working man."

A fourth grader asks why people hate Obama. Well, small boy, it's like this, some people are intolerant and rotten (that's my answer). Obama tries to explain politics and says people feel frustrated because of the economy. He's so level headed:

Update Aug. 12: The White House confirmed late Tuesday afternoon that Obama will hold the meeting at Central High School 6:25 p.m. eastern. The event is open to the public, although a limited number of tickets will be distributed via a lottery system. GJC

This town hall will be lived streamed at cnn.com or msnbc.com.

Obama will hold a town hall in Bozeman, Montana Aug. 14, followed by a town hall in Grand Junction, Colo. Aug. 15. Apparently, none of the town halls are being screened to keep out opponents. But I sure as heck hope that they're being screened to keep out the lunatics.
On Sunday, the Obama family will visit national parks: Yellowstone in Wyoming and the Grand Canyon.

From the GJ Sentinel: Flags and protest signs may well be equally abundant when President Barack Obama visits Grand Junction on Saturday.

As Obama returns to a Republican-dominated area, amid political turmoil over health care reform — his top domestic priority — what kind of a reception might the president expect?

“There’s a lot of folks who would like to give it to him, as they say, but it is really a genuine concern about what is going on and I think that is true across the county,” said Duncan McArthur, first vice chairman of the Mesa County Republicans.

As a U.S. citizen, McArthur said, he is proud to welcome a president to Grand Junction, even though he disagrees with a majority of Obama’s policies.

He said the local Republican party has no plans to organize protests.

“The Republican Party of Mesa County is not putting out a call to action,” he said. “What you see is not orchestrated. These people are genuinely concerned.” Read more at GJ Sentinel

Obama's Virtual AARP Town Hall Live Stream

Obama answered a lot of rumors from people who are afraid their health care is going to get taken away or get worse. A lot of older people are susceptible to email and Internet rumors. Right wingers target older people with fear tactics because they know that older people are vulnerable and easily scared when it comes to health care.
Obama says he got a letter from a woman who said she didn't want government running her healthcare and to leave her Medicare alone! Funny stuff. Some people don't even realize Medicare is a government program.

Today at 1 pm eastern, Obama will hold a virtual town hall with AARP. I'm sure you can guess the topic. Watch it here:
July 29, at 4 pm, Obama will hold another town hall in Bristol, Virginia at a Kroger supermarket.

Obama Town Hall in Bristol Virginia July 29

Update: Watch full video of the town hall here.
Obama will be meeting with grocery store workers at 4 p.m. eastern, Wednesday, July 29. The event should be live streamed at cnn.com or msnbc.com.
BRISTOL, Va. – Midway Street Kroger employees have been working around the clock to get ready for their chance Wednesday to talk with President Barack Obama about health care, which costs their company more than $1 billion per year.

Obama – whose top domestic priority has been a health-care overhaul – is slated to meet at 4 p.m. with the Bristol grocery store’s 87 employees for a town hall-style meeting.

Although no one could say Monday why the Bristol Kroger was chosen as the location for the meeting, it comes as leaders push for progress on health care before lawmakers go home for their August recess. Obama and congressional Democrats are seeking a government health insurance plan that critics say would lead to a federal takeover of the private health insurance marketplace.

On Monday, Kroger employees spruced up the store with a fresh coat of paint on the front awning and freshly scrubbed floors. Many picked up new name tags.

“We want to put our best foot forward,” Kroger Manager Rick Caldwell said, adding that he’s honored the president chose his grocery store to host the event. Read the rest at Tri Cities
Update July 29: This morning on NPR, we get a subtle reminder that racism is alive and kicking. Bristol is in the infamous Appalachia region. Listen:

Obama's Wisconsin Town Hall June 11

This is likely to be a healthcare reform town hall. It will be held at Green Bay Southwest High School at 12 p.m. and is likely to be live streamed at whitehouse.gov/livecnn.com or msnbc.com. There are no more tickets available to the event.
President Barack Obama is expected to participate in a listening session during his visit to Green Bay next week, according to Rep. Steve Kagen, who represents the area in the U.S. House.

"He's already identified three topics that are the focus of his first year in office: health care, the education of our children, and energy," said Kagen, who anticipates that Obama will touch on those subjects during his visit. "Those three problems we're facing are wrapped up together with our current economic problems."

Kagen, an Appleton Democrat, said he had no further details about Obama's June 11 trip or his reason for choosing to visit Wisconsin. It will be Obama's first visit to the state since he took office.

"I would think he's coming to the heartland of America to listen to our concerns," he said. "I'm very pleased to welcome him to our neck of the woods."

Kagen, a medical doctor, hopes to hear Obama talk about his plan to expand the number of Americans who have access to health insurance and ensure that insurance companies don't discriminate against people for existing health conditions. MJS
