Palin Helped Sever Bush

One thing is clear, Ms. Mooseburger helped sever the republican ties with George Bush. I don't think the argument that McCain, more of the same, is going to work, even though it's true.

It's about perceptions and ironically, Palin may be closer to Bush than McCain. She's a real churchgoer, with all that entails. But she doesn't look like it, and here's a refreshing difference from Bush, she's able to speak and communicate, which is nice to see from the republican ticket.

The Flaw in "More of the Same"

Nearly every democrat at the convention has uttered the words: "Do you want more of the same?"

That's fine if people equate Bush to McCain. What if they don't? McCain did vote with Bush 95% of the time and you'd think that would be the end of the story. But McCain's making new promises, granted they're campaign promises.

Let's not forget, McCain's a POW. Bush is not. McCain has more houses than Bush. But they both vacation at ranches.

McCain has celebrity support like Yankee Daddy (?). Bush has support of celebrities like Britney Spears. McCain's wife is a beer heiress. Bush's wife is a former librarian.

McCain does believe in global warming. Not sure if he's inclined to do anything about it. Bush doesn't believe in global warming.

So far, people don't seem to be connecting the "more of the same" dots. Voting for Bush 95% of the time is not setting off any warning bells.
