Obama: I Won't Have This Much Restraint With Republicans

during the north carolina town hall today, a woman asked how obama is going to be mccain. he said that last night ushered in the republican strategy and that he's going to have to answer to the republicans swiftly and strongly and pivot to issues. he went on to say he's been trying to show restraint against his fellow democrat but won't do so with mccain.

Obama Will Invite Gore to Be in Cabinet

that's what he said moments ago in indiana at a town hall, when asked al gore question, which has come up before in recent weeks. obama said he wasn't sure if al gore would want to join or what he'd want to do but obama said he surely would invite him to be part of his cabinet.

obama also talked about his philosophy on the supreme court. here's a summary:
the role is to apply the law faithfully, where there's a clear legal precedent it should be followed. the sc matters when the law is ambiguous. the sc has to look out for those who are vulnerable in our political system, people who are poor, minorities, not the powerful people.

the power people control the other two branches of government.

sometimes the powerless may be wrong. so it's not just a blanket ruling in favor of the powerless. obama said he wants a sc that is sensitive to the vulnerable.
