In Minnesota, the only thing people are interested in is jobs. Michele Bachmann's got that part right. But Bachmann, who has proven herself to be the wackiest of all, is clearly a birther. Watch how she avoids Larry King's question on whether she's with the birthers. She's playing to both constituents--normal people and people like herself.

Trump Says We're in a Depression

Few people have said we're in a depression, which is simply a severe downturn that lasts several years, but maybe The Donald is right. Unemployment has already hit double digits in some places. If we are in a depression, it's a mild one, so far. During the Great Depression, unemployment was 25%, and salaries were cut nearly in half.

CNN: Larry King: Is Obama right or wrong to go after these executives with salary caps?

Donald Trump: Well, I think he's absolutely right. Billions of dollars is being given to banks and others. You know, once you start using taxpayer money, it's a whole new game. So I absolutely think he's right.

King: What about the whole concept of bailouts?

Trump: Well, it's a little bit different. A lot of people are not in favor of bailouts. You know, we talked about all the different things going on in this country. Let's face it, Larry, we are in a depression.

If they didn't do the bailout, you would be in depression No. 2 and maybe just as big as depression No. 1, so they really had to do something. The problem is they're giving millions and billions of dollars to banks and the banks aren't loaning it.

If you are a prime customer of a bank and if you need 10 cents, you can't get it. The banks are out of business. They're not loaning. Now, billions of dollars has been given. They're supposed to be loaning out that money and they're using it for other purposes, so it is a real mess.

King: If you were in the Senate, would you vote for the stimulus plan?

Trump: Well, I'd vote for a stimulus plan. I'm not sure that all of the things in there are appropriate. Some of the little toys that they have are not really appropriate, and they're a little surprising that they seem to want it, because the publicity on it has been terrible.

I would certainly vote for a stimulus, but I would really vote for banks having to loan out the money because they're not doing that.

Palin on Larry King

I think I've discovered something. Sarah Palin is a robot. She has a set of talking points programmed into her mind and then she pads them with words such as "also" and other fluff n puff.
She seems to only give Obama credit for being black. She's proud of that.

CNN: King: But you do admit you should have done more (interviews)?

Palin: I would love to have done more. Yes. Yes.

King: During the campaign, you expressed concerns about Obama's lack of executive experience and characterized him as "palling around with terrorists." Do you fear the United States under his presidency -- do you fear for the United States?

Palin: I don't have fear, I have optimism. Barack Obama is going to surround himself with those who do have executive experience. There was nothing mean-spirited -- there was no negative campaigning when I called Barack Obama out on his associations. You know, we're talking specifically, of course, about Bill Ayers -- an unrepentant domestic terrorist, who campaigned to bomb our United States Capitol and our Pentagon.

I don't think that there is anything wrong with calling someone out on their associations, their record, their plans. I expect to be called out -- and so did John McCain -- on his associations and our record.

I'm proud of Barack Obama. I pray for him, his family, the new administration. I look forward to the good things that are in store for this nation.

King: Are you going to go to the inaugural?

Palin: I haven't been invited. It would be something, perhaps, if I'm not too busy up there in the state of Alaska, I'd love to.

King: Did you want to make a concession speech?

Palin: I had some very nice words penned ready to deliver it. It was going to just be a sweet shout-out to Sen. McCain and all that he has overcome and the challenges that he has met and the victories within his own life and his character.

I had good words penned there that I would have loved to have been able to express. But John McCain is a very, very humble man. It was decided that -- at the very last minute that, no, he would do the concession speech solely. That's our right. That's, you know, that's their call. That's the strategists' call and John McCain's.

King: Were you very sad when you learned the result?

Chris Rock on Larry King

Chris Rock says he's proud to support Obama because he is Barack Obama-- his character -- not because he's black. This is what the racists, such as Rush Limbaugh, don't understand. They call Obama the affirmative action candidate -- the reason they say white people like Obama -- and they say black people like Obama because he's black. This is their worldview. They're ignorant but vocal and speak for many.
