How I despise pundits -- both on the left and the right.
I can't bear to watch Keith Olbermann anymore. I could never stand Rush. Both ends of the pundit spectrum have restricted thinking. They want their republicans in one box and their democrats in another. Obama's thinking outside of the box and those on the left and the right can't stand it.
Obama's attempting to make change and people are hyperventilating. Judd Gregg withdrew and that's a good thing because republican or not, the guy is a flake. But at least Obama was bold enough to even consider a republican for the position.
Here is Bill Maher saying Obama has a lot to learn. As if Maher would know. Obama's way smarter than any of these goobers.

CNN: Larry King: A big story today, Bill. I wonder your reaction to it. Judd Gregg, the senator from New Hampshire, says I will take the job [commerce secretary]. They do a beautiful little press conference. And the president announces how close they've been through the years without agreeing. And now he quits today. ...

Bill Maher: I was crushed because, you know, having found out who Judd Gregg was two days ago, the idea that now I'm not going to have him to talk about was just devastating to me. Judd Gregg. Wow! ...

King: Well, why do you -- why would you think he took it and then didn't take it?

Maher: Well, because it's a big Washington job. I think it probably was a pay increase and a status increase and I'm in the Cabinet. And then I guess his Republican friends got to him -- you know, like the mob.

But, you know, I think Obama is learning, and he certainly is the smartest guy we've had there that I can remember. But there's always a learning curve.

And I think what he's learning, first of all, is that there's no such thing as a moderate Republican anymore, is there?

Conservative Horowitz: Shut Up About Obama's Birth Certificate

David Horowitz calls it the "Obama Derangement Syndrome" and he says protesting Obama's eligibility to be president is embarrassing to conservatives. Thank you and bless you, Mr. Horowitz. If republicans are to get any shine back, they're going to have to bring the extremists on the right up to speed. They're going to have to take back their party from the Palin-esque types. Someone has to get real with them and tell them that they've taken their conspiracy theory too far and that's what Horowitz has tried to do. 
Nevertheless, the loons press on, oblivious to reality.

NRO: This tempest over whether Obama, the child of an American citizen, was born on American soil is tantamount to the Democrats’ seditious claim that Bush “stole” the election in Florida and hence was not the legitimate president. This delusion helped to create the Democrats’ Bush derangement syndrome and encouraged Democratic leaders to lie about the origins of the Iraq war, and regard it as illegitimate as Bush himself. It became “Bush’s War” rather than an American War — with destructive consequences for our troops and our cause.

The birth-certificate zealots are essentially arguing that 64 million voters should be disenfranchised because of a contested technicality as to whether Obama was born on U.S. soil. (McCain narrowly escaped the problem by being born in the Panama Canal zone, which is no longer American.)

What difference does it make to the future of this country whether Obama was born on U.S. soil? Advocates of this destructive campaign will argue that the constitutional principle regarding the qualifications for president trumps all others. But how viable will our Constitution be if five Supreme Court justices should decide to void 64 million ballots?

Conservatives are supposed to respect the organic nature of human societies. Ours has been riven by profound disagreements that have been deepening over many years. We are divided not only about political facts and social values, but also about what the Constitution itself means. The crusaders on this issue choose to ignore these problems and are proposing to deny the will of 64 million voters by appealing to five Supreme Court Justices (since no one is delusional enough to think that the four liberal justices are going to take the presidency away from Obama). What kind of conservatism is this?

McCain Ready To Start War With Russia

In this video, Rachel Maddow talks about the differences between Obama and McCain's approach to foreign policy, using the conflict in Georgia as an example. 

The main difference: McCain is threatening Russia, poking them, which pleases many voters who think that America's military can solve any problem.

Obama recognizes the complexity of the problem and advocates solving the conflict by methods other than force. The problem is, America has lost its standing and respect in the world. Nobody listens to George Bush when he calls for cease fire. Nobody listens to Bush when he calls for diplomacy. I think that was apparent on Obama's overseas visit.

Some people had some trouble with the "citizen of the world" part of Obama's speech. Guess who that was? 

As Keith Olbermann points out in this video, the beloved one -- Ronald Reagan -- said the same thing in one of his speeches. 

The critics seem to be stretching a little too far, desperate for something.

Obama's strategy to enlist help, to cooperate with the world, as opposed to dominate it, is what's needed.
It's becoming increasingly apparent that this election is largely a generational thing, moving America in a new direction with Obama or more of the same with McCain. I sure hope most Americans have the fortitude to move ahead.
