Liberal Conyers Takes His Disdain for Obama Public

As long as Obama has opposition from the right and the left, he's doing the right thing because while it's always about left and right politics, it's never about the left and the right because the majority of the people fall into neither camp.
Democrat John Conyers takes to the Huffington Post (which has become the official Obama, Rahm, Geithner attack site on the left) and The Hill to express his anger at Obama's policies, but decides not to discuss it with Obama. Nice. Conyers beef: he advocates a single payer healthcare system -- we can't even pass a public option-- and he opposes sending more troops to Afghanistan.
Jake Tapper reports that the White House has no comment.
As I was saying earlier in the day, Congress people appear to be a bunch of whiny immature men and it is mostly men who are being the terds. It's a wonder that anything gets accomplished in Congress.
According to the lawmaker, the president picked up the phone several weeks ago to find out why Conyers was “demeaning” him.
Obama’s decision to challenge Conyers highlights a sensitivity to criticism the president has taken on the left. Conyers’s critical remarks, many of which have been reported on the liberal-leaning Huffington Post, appear to have irritated the president, known for his calm demeanor.

Conyers, the second-longest-serving member of the House, said, “[Obama] called me and told me that he heard that I was demeaning him and I had to explain to him that it wasn’t anything personal, it was an honest difference on the issues. And he said, ‘Well, let’s talk about it.’”

Sitting in the Judiciary Committee’s conference room two days after Obama delivered his speech on Afghanistan, the 23-term lawmaker said he wasn’t in the mood to “chat.” More at the Hill

Is White House Leaking for McCain

Lie, cheat, steal.
We need to sweep this administration out of the White House. These people would do anything to stay in power. McCain is their sorry hope for keeping power. What is it that Obama has been saying lately -- Power doesn't concede without a fight, or something like that.
The White House may have leaked information to the McCain camp regarding an Obama relative, who appears to be living in the U.S. illegally.
The wingnuts are up in arms over this (this actually isn't new, the wingnuts have been exploring all of Obama's relatives for quite some time) because they think they might be able to scare up some votes. It's not going to move anyone except for the McCain Palin's extremist supporters. Only three more days. I can barely stand it.
WASHINGTON (CNN) – A Democratic lawmaker on Saturday asked Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff to investigate a leak to reporters regarding the immigration status of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's aunt, suggesting the Bush administration may have been behind it.

"I was startled to read in today's Associated Press that a 'federal law enforcement official' has leaked information about an immigration case involving a relative of Senator Obama," said a letter sent to Chertoff by Rep. John Conyers, D-Michigan, who chairs the House Judiciary Committee.

"Even more troubling, the AP reports that it 'could not establish whether anyone at a political level in the Bush administration or in the McCain campaign had been involved,' a very disturbing (suggestion) indeed," the letter said.

"This leak is deplorable and I urge you to take immediate action to investigate and discipline those responsible."

The AP reported Saturday that Obama's Kenyan aunt, Zeituni Onyango, is living in the United States illegally, even though an immigration judge rejected her request for asylum four years ago. The story cites two sources, one of them a federal law enforcement official.
