Automatic spending reductions and the expiration of tax cuts coming at the end of the year -- because Congress didn't do its work properly the first go around -- is set to cause a fiscal disaster, maybe even throw us back into recession, if it isn't handled. Well, it appears a group of bipartisan senators has decided to behave like grownups and try to resolve the looming disaster:
