Obama will be speaking to the Chamber of Commerce on Monday, bringing the message that businesses should set up shop here and hire U.S. workers. But American workers aren't the best, at least not for the price. American companies look for value -- the best workers at the lowest price. For business it's always about profit. It's not evil. It's just the way of business. It's also what Americans demand -- cheap products. America needs to better educate the masses and convince them that they need to be better educated. Most people seem unconvinced at this point. And America needs to create an industry that produces things that the whole world wants. Fortunately, Obama is addressing education, innovation (clean energy) and fairer trade. But Obama is steering a country that grew attached to credit and debt and consumption and that will be difficult to change.
