Obama's on the cover of Men's Health this month. The magazine has a story about Obama's healthcare plan. But what disturbed me is the survey of men-only in the front of the mag: 56% of men said the government SHOULD NOT guarantee healthcare for all.
Since men don't bear the bulk of the child rearing responsibility, and since many men don't even care for their own children, they really shouldn't be voting against universal health care.
If more men were taking care of their children, perhaps children wouldn't be without health insurance. Here was one of the quotes from Wesley, who's 25 and probably childless: "I don't like paying higher taxes because of others' unhealthy lifestyles."
That's a stupid statement because Wesley is paying a higher premium because of other peoples' unhealthy lifestyles.
Only 34% of men said providing health care for the uninsured should be the priority. Most of the men said lowering costs should be the priority.
