Limbaugh Can't Help Himself

The problem with Rush Limbaugh and his radical right friends is that they can't see Obama as anything other than the affirmative action candidate.

They can't see Obama as a worthy candidate who happens to be black. They are unable to see anything because they have their racist glasses on. They see the world through a narrow hard right field of vision.

The fact is, Obama is on the path to win the majority of the white vote. Is that just because all the white people feel guilty. I don't think so. Everyone is hurting and we all want a president who can lead for a change.

And who are these liberals that Limbaugh's always attacking. It's not just liberals who are voting for Obama. It's republicans, independents, and people of all colors. Of course black people should vote for Obama. Why wouldn't they? The only people who aren't voting for Obama are those who 1) are racist 2) think McCain is more qualified 3) are staunch republicans. That leaves a lot of room for Obama to win over voters. McCain's choice of an unqualified running mate kind of sealed the deal for many people.

Given the state of McCain's sad campaign, Obama is the sane vote.

Sadly, Limbaugh has a voice on the radio, so he's able to nurture his views with fellow racists and get a lot of attention. But he can't help himself. It's his job. It's all he knows.
CNN: "So what if it's race?" Limbaugh said on his radio show. "Why is it so hard to admit that it's race…What's so problematic about admitting it?"

Limbaugh's original comments came in an email to Politico reporter Jonathan Martin Sunday, when the talk-radio host took issue with Powell's contention that his endorsement of the Illinois senator did not have anything to do with the color of his skin.

"Secretary Powell says his endorsement is not about race," Limbaugh wrote in the e-mail. "OK, fine. I am now researching his past endorsements to see if I can find all the inexperienced, very liberal, white candidates he has endorsed. I'll let you know what I come up with."

The comments immediately caused a stir on several Democratic blogs and an Obama campaign spokeswoman called them "disgusting." They were also heavily reported on several news programs Sunday night and Monday morning. But Limbaugh made clear Monday he is not backing down from them.

"I thought it should be about race," he said. "I thought you liberals thought this was a historic candidacy because finally we are going to elect a black guy…why hide behind this, why act like it's not about race?"
