Fox distorted photos of NYT staffers. See them side by side. Times Culture Editor Sam Sifton speaks out.
E&P: "It wasn't a hit piece," Sifton told E&P. "It was straight news. This was a hit piece by Fox News. It is beneath comment." Asked if the paper planned to respond to Fox's actions, he said no: "It is fighting with a pig, everyone gets dirty and the pig likes it."
I like pigs so it's unfortunate that Fox has to be compared to pigs but you get the idea. These people have gone bonkers.
Fox's childish behavior is one of the reasons that I refuse to use silly names like McLame or McSame on this blog, though I'm tempted and I sometimes chuckle when others do.
It's too easy to resort to name calling or personal attacks so you have to resist the temptation. But Fox obviously thinks there's nothing wrong with grownups, who wield power of the media, to be acting like fools. They just don't see the ramifications of irresponsible journalism and the misinformation and hate that it perpetuates.
The worse thing about Fox is other media outlets follow Fox on stories. Don't know why.
