Politico: With McCain unlikely to budge, GOP officials are hoping groups outside of the campaign will finance an ad attack on Obama-Wright ties. It is unclear if any conservative group has the cash to bankroll a serious effort, however.
“Wright is off the table,” said one top campaign official. “It’s all McCain. He won’t go there. His advisers would have gone there.”
The aides argue that the 20 years that Obama spent in the fiery Wright’s pastoral care—and his later assertion that he knew nothing of his former minister’s more extreme statements—provide an opening to challenge Obama’s judgment and honesty in a relevant and politically resonant way.

McCain Says Wright off the Table
Could that be because of Palin's weird pastor associations? Is Wright off the table because McCain knows that this line of attack is disguised racism? Could it be because of McCain's own associations with strange pastors? Could it be because McCain knows that while the wingnuts drip in Wright on a daily basis, many Americans got enough of it during the primary and it's not going to win him any points? Could it be that McCain doesn't even have to put Wright on the table because he's already there?

Palin's Debate Strategy
The McCain camp is out with its debate strategy -- the debate questions are stacked against Palin! I hope the questions are softies, then we'll really see if she's dull, or just in over her head, or both. OH PLEASE ask about dinosaurs and humans walking the Earth together.

Here's Why Republicans Are Gleeful
In addition to being hot, Palin asked for people to pray to God for a pipeline. (see video below)
But you know what, no one is going to care because her brand of religion believes Islam is evil and believes: "end times foreshadowing the end of the world was confirmed in 1948, with the founding of the state of Israel, marking the Jews' return to the Holy Land, fulfilling a Biblical prophecy," according to a story in the Wall Street Journal.
Ms. Mooseburger's also white.
I would argue that maybe her views wouldn't affect government, but she prayed for a Pipeline and thinks the Iraq war was God's plan! I think that was Bush's plan.
We are back to George Bush, folks. This is going to bring up Rev. Wright all over again and that will drown out any criticism of Palin.
It looks like people have fallen for her, too. A new Rasmussen poll says 58% of American voters have a favorable opinion of her.
Not only that, 51% of Americans think reporters are picking on her.
So it's looking like a genius pick for McCain. Perhaps Rush Limbaugh was right. Palin is a babe (that's what he said) and she's just what McCain needed. Imagine, a talk show host pushed a vice presidential choice. Only in America. Perhaps we need four more years of the same.

AP: Palin asked the students to pray for the troops in Iraq, and noted that her eldest son, Track, was expected to be deployed there.
"Our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God," she said. "That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that plan is God's plan."
A video of the speech was posted at the Wasilla Assembly of God's Web site before finding its way on to other sites on the Internet.
Palin told graduating students of the church's School of Ministry, "What I need to do is strike a deal with you guys." As they preached the love of Jesus throughout Alaska, she said, she'd work to implement God's will from the governor's office, including creating jobs by building a pipeline to bring North Slope natural gas to North American markets.
"God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that," she said.
"I can do my job there in developing our natural resources and doing things like getting the roads paved and making sure our troopers have their cop cars and their uniforms and their guns, and making sure our public schools are funded," she added. "But really all of that stuff doesn't do any good if the people of Alaska's heart isn't right with God."
Palin attended the evangelical church from the time she was a teenager until 2002, the church said in a statement posted on its Web site. She has continued to attend special conferences and meetings there. Religious conservatives have welcomed her selection as John McCain's running mate.
