Coverts Calling For Another Race Speech

as if obama could change hearts and minds of racists with a speech. he can bring awareness to people and convince fence sitters to come on over but obama's not going to change that guy in pennsylvania who won't vote for "a black" simply because he's black.

that's going to have to be something that that man in pennsylvania works out for himself. so why are so many calling for another race speech? distraction, distraction, distraction. exploitation, exploitation, exploitation.

many of us are way beyond that and wish to get to the real issues, the mess we have in our own backyard and the mess that we've made in iraq. to keep calling attention to race is foolish. once he's elected, then we can have all the conversations we want.

the best way we can make moves to end racism is to get to work fixing our out-of-date educational system.

but some folks, who have their own political agendas, will continue to use race to bait and exploit the ignorant among us, who haven't a clue they're being used.

Obama To Talk Race and Politics Tuesday

can i first say: hallelujah! next, can i say: this is a man of character and integrity.
obama is set to give a speech tomorrow in pennsylvania confronting all the racially-charged issues that have popped up, no thanks to clinton.
from cnn:

PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania (CNN) — Far from putting the controversial issue of race behind him, Barack Obama has decided to address the issue head on in a speech Tuesday.

"I am going to be talking not just about Reverend Wright, but the larger issue of race in this campaign — which has ramped up over the last couple of weeks," Obama told reporters in Monaca, Pennsylvania.

Obama's chief strategist David Axelrod characterized the speech, to be delivered in Philadelphia, as "a discussion on race and politics."

"Given the events of the last few weeks, Obama felt it was time to address the issue of race and politics directly, and what it means in our country," Axelrod said.

it's too bad his speech isn't likely to have any effect on the ignorant, but it might be powerful enough for the superdelegates (of which obama has 16 to clinton's 6 since march 4) to see that, yes, we have a real leader here.
