Obama Significantly Improves America's Image Abroad

Except for Muslim countries, Obama has improved America's image abroad. We're back to pre-Bush era. Read the results from the World Public Opinion poll here.

And among financial investors abroad:
President Barack Obama has rock- star appeal among the investing class -- except in his own country.
The Quarterly Bloomberg Global Poll of financial investors and analysts finds attitudes about the new president in Asia and Europe are overwhelmingly positive. In the U.S., by contrast, they are slightly negative.
In Europe and Asia, 87 percent of respondents say they view Obama positively, compared with just 49 percent in the U.S. His standing among American investors is even lower on economic matters: only a quarter of U.S. poll respondents rate his economic policies as “good” or “excellent,” compared with more than half in Europe and Asia.
Obama’s “stratospheric favorability ratings” outside the U.S. after five months in office are related to attitudes about his predecessor, former President George W. Bush, says J. Ann Selzer, the president of Selzer & Co., a Des Moines, Iowa-based polling firm that conducted the survey. Bloomberg

Obama Takes Lead in CBS Poll

McCain was ripped all over the news tonight and deservedly so. People are catching on and the media has stepped up their fact checking. They're not letting stupid stuff blow by. In this poll, Obama leads in independents and in women. More than half of the people don't think Palin is ready and 75% thought McCain chose her to win the election. This is heartening!
CBS: In a sign that John McCain's convention bounce has dissipated, Barack Obama has taken a 48 percent to 43 percent lead over his Republican rival among registered voters in the latest CBS News/New York Times poll.

McCain had a two percentage point lead among registered voters in a CBS News poll released on September 8th, just after the Republican National Convention. Prior to the party conventions, Obama led McCain by 3 points.

In the new poll, the gap among likely voters is the same as it is among registered voters: Obama leads among those seen as likely to go to the polls in November 49 percent to 44 percent.
