George McGovern on Obama

he spoke at the south dakota rally yesterday. as you may know, mcgovern had supported hillary and at the same time had praised obama. he had said his children and grandkids were obama supporters. in this video, he says his family influenced him, along with the fact that obama is the likely nominee.

update: on npr mcgovern says: "my own conscience tells me now is the time to move." he says he hasn't talked to hillary yet but he will tell her: "she's waged a wonderful race" but in the best interests of the country and for her best interests, she should quit.
update: he will endorse obama
that's what i heard on npr minutes ago. mcgovern had been a hillary supporter, but he has in the past thrown some praise obama's way. he has said that his grandkids are obama supporters.

Sen. George McGovern Praises Obama

update may 7: mcgovern urges hillary to quit

sen. george mcgovern, 85, a 1972 democratic presidential candidate, has already endorsed hillary clinton but he thinks highly of barack obama. he was interviewed on kpcc today. he said his 10 grandchildren are supporting obama. he also said clinton's support of the $3 trillion iraq war was a mistake, no way around that.

and that the superdelegates should be honor bound to support the voters.

mcgovern's noble work now is to end world hunger and nutritious school lunches.
