Crossroads GPS has purchased a $25 million ad blitz in nine battleground states to attack President Barack Obama’s record on jobs and the debt, the advocacy group supporting Republican Mitt Romney said Friday. It's ironic. The recession happened on Bush's watch. Sure, blame can be spread, but it's republican policies that left Wall Street unregulated. Ultimately, it's an unregulated financial market that crushed the economy. Obama didn't cause the recession and Obama's policies didn't make it worse. We've had 28 straight months of jobs growth and Obama saved the automotive industry.
The wave of advertisements, which roll out on July 10 and run through early August, begins with a spot called “Excuses,” which focuses on the disappointing report released Friday that shows poorer-than-expected US jobs growth and a stagnant unemployment rate of 8.2 percent. Raw story
There is an argument to be made that more stimulus would've helped and a better attitude from the GOP might've helped. Imagine if republicans actually worked on compromises with Obama.
Then GOP blames Obama for losing jobs, when most of the job losses happened on Bush's watch. Then they blame Obama for not fixing the economy fast enough.
Fascinating if they get away with it. Republicans are playing the blame game. Not Obama.
No one in the media is talking about it because they're mostly ignorant about economics. The economy is never going to be what it was, no matter who is president. The economy is undergoing a structural shift. That's not a bad thing. Primarily, it means we're going to need to rethink education.
