Obama will speak at 8 pm eastern from the Oval office, following a two-day tour of the states hit by the oil disaster. Obama engages in theater to please the media, which, unfortunately, is what he needs to do, seeing how the media distorted the administration's response to the spill and turned the catastrophe into theater of the absurd. The media could play a more important role in preventing something like this from happening in the future, but our dumbed down media is content to play to the uninformed masses. The speech will be on your TVs:
As critics continue to fault Mr. Obama less for his administration’s overall response to the spill than for what they say has been his own slow and reactive leadership style, the ultimatum to BP and the president’s use of the solemn setting of the Oval Office escalate his personal engagement to a new level. NYTOn June 16, Obama will meet with BP execs to discuss expediting claims.
