Obama Presents Popular Song Award to McCartney

Update: McCartney said that he was pleased to receive the Gershwin award. He was even more pleased to received the award from Obama. At least someone recognizes a brilliant president when they see one. He also said billions are rooting for the U.S. to get its act together (paraphrased).

The Jonas Brothers, Stevie Wonder, Elvis Costello and others performed. Michelle Obama sat next to McCartney. The concert will be broadcast on PBS July 28.

The Obamas are hosting a concert tonight at the White House, honoring Paul McCartney. Obama will present him with the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song from the Library of Congress.
