Of course the media headlines are: Cheers, protests at Notre Dame. It was mostly cheers, big thunderous ones and chants of "yes we can" and a few protesters. Obama handled it with grace and humor.
Obama tackled the abortion issue dead on.
He talked about the need to find common ground without demonizing the other side. Anti-abortion activists should get on board with Obama's abortion reduction task force or work on their own to reduce abortions. Educate people, don't walk around with dead babies on signs.
They should start teen education programs and help the poor because a poor teen, with little family support, can't raise a child very well. They should advance adoption and work to better the foster care system. They should care more about what happens once a baby is born to a teen mother or a mother who financially can't give the baby what he or she needs. They could do so much more. Those are the things that Obama is working on.
But it seems many aren't interested in solving the problem, only being right and self-righteous.
