NYT:
Mr. McCain will appear on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” next Tuesday, exactly one week after conceding the presidency to Barack Obama. NBC said “the senator’s first television appearance” would commemorate Veteran’s Day.
By appearing on a late-night comedy program after ending his presidential run, Mr. McCain is coming full circle — almost. Mr. McCain confirmed his candidacy for president in an appearance on CBS’s
“The Late Show,” hosted by Mr. Leno’s chief competitor, David Letterman, in March 2007. When Mr. McCain canceled a subsequent visit to “The Late Show” in September, Mr. Letterman loudly criticized the candidate, leading to a make-up session in October.
Ms. Palin, meanwhile, has granted her first in-depth post-election interview to Greta Van Susteren of the Fox News Channel. The interview will be shown the day before Mr. McCain’s “Tonight Show” stop, at 10 p.m. on Monday.
