Palin Balks at Scientific Research

Today Palin balked at fruit fly research, which even I, with limited knowledge of fruit fly research, know that those little buggers have been key to a lot of science. Science blogs are laughing it up. Actually, they're kind of mad.
Here's news about fruit fly research and birth defects:
ScienceDaily (Nov. 22, 2005) — A Queen's University study of fruit flies that may revolutionize the way birth defects are studied has identified the genes affected by a widely prescribed drug known to cause birth defects.
Palin needs to stop talking, not to save McCain, but to save the rest of us suffering high blood pressure.
