Fun With Palin in Nevada

Palin doesn't get feminism. She thinks that feminism is just being a woman vice presidential candidate.
NYT: HENDERSON, Nev. — Speaking at a boisterous rally near Las Vegas, Gov. Sarah Palin, the Republican nominee for vice president, on Tuesday sharply attacked Senator Barack Obama as a faux feminist, criticizing him for not choosing Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton as his running mate.

Ms. Palin spoke flanked by female supporters she described as members of the Democratic platform committee and the National Organization for Women. She took a strongly feminist tack throughout, criticizing practices such as honor killings in the Muslim world as well as inequities closer to home and singling out female owners of small businesses, especially one she described as “Irma the Restaurant Owner.”
Palin apparently couldn't fill up the seats in Reno, Nevada.
And in Henderson, Nevada, she laid off the terrorist talk but the crowd didn't:

Palin made a direct appeal to women, advocating opportunity and equal pay for equal work at home, and opposing their subjugation abroad. Palin had two well-known feminists, including the former president of the Oregon chapter of the National Organization for Women, sitting behind her.

And, with the election two weeks away, she appealed to voters to vote for the Republican ticket.

"Nevada, from now until voting day, which is coming so soon, you will hear our opponents go on and on about how they will fight for you," Palin said. Palin continued her ongoing slogan that only one man in the campaign has fought for the country and that man is John McCain.

Before the Palin event, a long line snaked from the Henderson Pavilion out to Green Valley Parkway. Once inside, the crowd filled the 2,400 seats and spilled over onto the lawn.

Jon Ralston, a Sun political columnist at the event, wrote to those on his e-mail newsletter list that the crowd was raucus, with Obama-bashing going on. He wrote that some protesters were calling Obama a terrorist.
