If you watched the news today, the media can't get the "surge" off of their minds. They've bought the idea that the "surge worked" as McCain would say. Especially Andrea Mitchell. Ugh. That's about the only thing that McCain has going for him.
The media seems to want to be the first to get Obama to say that the surge worked too.
Well, that's malarkey.
First off, the surge was not some brilliant strategy. It was the addition of troops. Second, as Obama points out, his solution could've worked in place of the surge and we wouldn't be further in the muck.
Marc Ambinder points out an exchange between Obama and Katie Couric, where Obama makes his point and Couric looks, well, silly.
