McCaskill and Fiorina on Meet the Press

Tom Brokaw noted it was the first time two women appeared as surrogates for the candidates.

Sen. Claire McCaskill makes it clear that Obama's mindset on Iraq is different than McCain's. The press has really gone bonkers over this. I don't know how much more clear Obama could be. His goal is 16 months. He's going to listen to the ground troops. Of course, things will change. Americans expect that.

Carly Fiorina, for McCain, said no one could've predicted in January the state of the economy at the present. She was defending McCain's statement in January that Islamist terrorism was more pressing than the economy.

Ha! I predicted the state of the economy long before January. How? Because I'm on the ground, so to speak. There are academics around the country who predicted the economy would plunge into recession.

Taxes.
Obama will not raise taxes on anyone who makes less than $250,000. The wealthiest sliver, the ones out buying their fourth and fifth homes, their next Ferrari and yacht, will have their taxes raised. What the heck is wrong with that? If someone is going to pay more taxes why shouldn't it be this group of people?

The vice presidential question: Fiorina said she doesn't deal hypotheticals.
"If I was a betting person, I wouldn't bet on me," McCaskill said.
