Superdelegates Waiting

despite dean's call for superdelegates to make a decision, many are waiting, at least until after pennsylvania, according to this story in the usa today. i think it's a good idea they wait.

usa today: The stakes in Pennsylvania are high for Clinton, who contends she is best positioned to win it and other swing states in November against presumptive Republican nominee John McCain. But some superdelegates, such as Oregon Secretary of State Bill Bradbury, say Pennsylvania "could be the final call."

SUPERDELEGATES: Biding their time

Bradbury says a strong showing or win by Obama would end doubts about the senator's appeal to working-class white male voters, who backed Clinton in previous contests. Oregon votes May 20.

"She's got to prove herself in order for me to come off the middle ground," says Richard Ray, a Democratic National Committee member from Georgia. Young Democrats of America President David Hardt says Clinton needs a big win Tuesday or he and other superdelegates will "start migrating" to Obama.

Clinton's double-digit lead in state polls has dwindled recently. Pennsylvania boasts 158 delegates, the most of any remaining contest.

"If Barack ends up winning Pennsylvania after Hillary had a big lead there … that result will be meaningful," says Delaware Sen. Tom Carper, a superdelegate because he's in Congress. "As a neighbor to Pennsylvania, that result will not be lost on me."
