Birther Marine Booted After Calling Obama The Enemy

Update April 26: Stein appears to have a bit of remorse, maybe even the hope of changing his ways.
“If he was in front of me right now, I would salute him, say, ‘Yes, Mr. President, No, Mr. President,’ and when I walked away, I would still disagree with his policies. But those are two separate things.”
Or maybe not.

Birther Marine and tea party member, Gary Stein, gets an "other than honorable" discharge. Dick Armey's FreedomWorks was helping to defend Stein, who was fighting the boot.
Quite frankly, he's fortunate. He should have been dishonorably discharged. Anyway, he'll lose his benefits, which means he'll probably become the next Fox News contributor.

Stein writes this on his facebook page:
Illegal immigration is a big deal to the left because it's a source of voters. The Democrats are losing voters. They have to replace them. They're aborting voters. Literally! They are aborting their own future voters. They need new voters.
I wish he could surround himself with decent people who could let him know that there are people who see people as people. Immigrants are part of the democratic party because democrats welcome people of all stripes. Democrats see the value in diversity. Democrats see nuance and complexity. Republicans prefer people to be white and Christian. Republicans see in black and white.
Furthermore, democrats aren't losing voters. In 2008, there were more registered democrats than republicans. Also, republicans have abortions too, probably in equal numbers, because it really isn't a political thing. Republicans are only hypocritical and sanctimonious about abortion. If they really wanted to reduce abortion, they'd attack the problem in a much different way. They'd advocate for adoption and help teen mothers and fathers. But republicans only use abortion to assert moral superiority.
It would also be nice if folks could argue using reason. His statement is full of hate and emotion and nothing more

Obama says republicans don't get it. Education is the economy.

Obama mocks republicans for their wackiness:
But at Saturday’s Missouri Senate Debate, when asked directly whether they would support efforts to prevent a doubling in federal student loan rates, all three refused to commit to such action. The three candidates opted instead to highlight their support for reinstalling banks as for-profit middlemen in the federal student loan system - a move that would sap resources currently available to families while providing bigger profits for big banks. Akin compared student loans to Stage III cancer: "America has got the equivalent of the Stage III cancer of socialism because the federal government is tampering in all kinds of stuff it has no business tampering in. So, first to answer your question precisely. What the democrats did to get rid of the private student loans and take it all over by the government was wrong. It was a lousy bill. That's why I voted no. The government needs to get its nose out of the education business." MoDems

Romney Then and Now on Student Loans

In this case then was in March. That's when Mitt response to student loan debt: "get a good job."

The Better Obama Does The More Republicans Oppose Him

Well, this is a twist. Felix Salmon, a Reuters financial blogger, says we should vote for Romney because of republican knee-jerk opposition to everything Obama does. Interesting, but bad logic. Contrary to popular opinion, there's more at stake than the economy, which is on the mend.
What we should do is vote out the republicans (tea partiers) we voted into Congress in 2010, which gave republicans the majority in the House and enough in the Senate to make progress highly improbable. Obama needs, at the very least, moderate republicans, practically extinct.
Also, republicans shouldn't be rewarded for very bad behavior. Salmon predicts an Obama win:

What About ALEC?

I admit I haven't followed ALEC (creator of canned laws that skew conservative) too closely. But I know enough to know that it's going down. Here's what you need to know.

Ann Romney Gaffe Already

I knew it was coming. The Romneys will be gaffe prone because they're trying to be what they're not. What's worse, is Ann is still milking the working mother issue, which she seems to think worked in her favor. So much money, so little humility. Ann loves it that women don't have a choice:
Romney alluded to the fact that not all women can stay at home saying, “I love the fact that there are women out there who don’t have a choice and they must go to work and they still have to raise the kids. Thank goodness that we value those people too. And sometimes life isn’t easy for any of us.” Buzzfeed
"Thank goodness we value those people too." Too? Thanks Ann.

Obama on Romney: "I've met him, but we're not friends. His wife is lovely"

Obama is taping for the Jimmy Fallon show while he's in North Carolina. I'll post the video when it comes out. The show airs tonight. The quote, which sounds like it could've gotten a few laughs, comes from reporter Sabrina Siddiqui, who tweeted it today.

Boehner Tries Fear Mongering

I just love this Fox News guy. He's so dramatic and a great softball thrower.
Boehner thinks people are jealous of rich folk, which is not a very nice way to view the American people. Boehner says we can't live with four more years of Obama. Why not? Obama has dug us out of the ditch republican policies put us in, no thanks to any help from the republicans. The next four years can only get better.

Fox News Host Almost Apologizes

It was a really stupid story in the first place. As I said, just search "silver spoon" under Obama's speeches and remarks at Whitehouse.gov and you'll see Obama's used that phrase in the past.

Josh Hartnett Helping out With Youth Vote

Obama holds a 17 point lead over Mitt in younger voters. That's because younger voters are more progressive and Romney is hollow AND extreme and a failed politician.

I don't like celeb endorsements, but I agree with Sean Penn 100%. He seemed to say Obama can have a positive effect but only if we are involved.
