Brennan Backs Obama on Meet the Press

All signs point to the fact that Cheney is just a terd.

I'm not a fan of name calling but Cheney has earned the name. Furthermore, he's the one who is dangerous because he has sway over wingnuts. What we don't need is violent wingnuts. We have other extremists to fight.

On Meet the Press, Deputy National Security Adviser John Brennan says he's disappointed in Dick and comes out strongly for Obama. "I see it on his face," he said of Obama's resolve to fight Al Qaeda.

Two former Bush administration intelligence officials, Michael Chertoff and Michael Hayden, also showed support for the Obama administration's efforts against terrorism as well. Chertoff says he has confidence in Homeland Secretary Janet Napolitano, and Hayden said minus some political differences, he's confident that the Obama administration is doing its best to fight terrorism. Hayden says that everyone (Dick) needs to calm down, stop hyperventilating and let Brennan do his work without the blame games. In other words, the real work can't get done in that environment, so stop politicizing terror. See that video below.

Man Arrested for Threatening Obama Online

This is heartening. Secret Service raided the home of a man who made threats online against Obama. Thank you Secret Service. Keep up the good work. It's good to see they're taking online threats seriously. I hope they're watching freerepublic.com, a hotbed of Obama hate. 

Wired: A Southern California man was charged Thursday with threatening a presidential candidate, for posting a racist note to a Yahoo message board in October expressing displeasure over Barack Obama's candidacy, and predicting "he will have a 50 cal in the head soon."
Walter Edward Bagdasarian, 47, was found with an arsenal of six weapons when Secret Service agents raided his La Mesa home in November, according to court records (.pdf). He had three handguns and three rifles, including a 30.06 with a telescopic sight and a Remington .50 caliber muzzle-loading rifle. read the rest.

Is White House Leaking for McCain

Lie, cheat, steal. 

We need to sweep this administration out of the White House. These people would do anything to stay in power. McCain is their sorry hope for keeping power. What is it that Obama has been saying lately -- Power doesn't concede without a fight, or something like that. 
The White House may have leaked information to the McCain camp regarding an Obama relative, who appears to be living in the U.S. illegally.
The wingnuts are up in arms over this (this actually isn't new, the wingnuts have been exploring all of Obama's relatives for quite some time) because they think they might be able to scare up some votes. It's not going to move anyone except for the McCain Palin's extremist supporters. Only three more days. I can barely stand it.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – A Democratic lawmaker on Saturday asked Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff to investigate a leak to reporters regarding the immigration status of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's aunt, suggesting the Bush administration may have been behind it.

"I was startled to read in today's Associated Press that a 'federal law enforcement official' has leaked information about an immigration case involving a relative of Senator Obama," said a letter sent to Chertoff by Rep. John Conyers, D-Michigan, who chairs the House Judiciary Committee.

"Even more troubling, the AP reports that it 'could not establish whether anyone at a political level in the Bush administration or in the McCain campaign had been involved,' a very disturbing (suggestion) indeed," the letter said.

"This leak is deplorable and I urge you to take immediate action to investigate and discipline those responsible."

The AP reported Saturday that Obama's Kenyan aunt, Zeituni Onyango, is living in the United States illegally, even though an immigration judge rejected her request for asylum four years ago. The story cites two sources, one of them a federal law enforcement official.

Levees Strength Questionable

Imagine that, after all this time, the strength of the levees (the weak levees is what really caused the destruction in New Orleans) is still in question.

Swamp: I just watched Homeland Security Sec. Michael Chertoff's brief press conference at Andrews Air Force base just before he got on a plane to head to the Gulf Coast region to check in on preparations for Hurricane Gustav.

The secretary, a very nice man, said the levees are stronger than they were before Hurricane Katrina. Chertoff should doublecheck that information.

The reporting I've read indicates that the levees are not generally and absolutely stronger. True, some levees have been strengthened and rebuilt after they failed.

But there've been questions about the rebuilding efforts that reconstructed levees that failed after Katrina.

There's also been seepage under a few of the levees that has confounded the Army Corps of Engineers.
