Obama Makes Statement on Fiscal Cliff Dec. 28

Update: In a nutshell, there is still the promise of something getting done. Maybe. Obama says Reid and McConnell are working on a bipartisan deal. If they can't come to an agreement, Reid will sponsor a bill on the floor for an up or down vote.
