No Ordinary Recovery Because It Was No Ordinary Recession

No thanks to the republicans. What audacity -- Throw the nation into recession and then blame the guy who's fixing it. I think republicans realize what they did wrong (which is why they never talk about Bush) — unpaid wars, unregulated Wall Street, only they would fix the economy on the backs of the poor and the middle class, under the guise of bad-tasting medicine. Obama is taking the route that doesn't break the backs of ordinary people. The idea is to recover first and then address the deficit. Republicans are using dog whistles to give people a scapegoat — government.
As you can see from the chart, Reagan's recession was nothing like the one Obama was handed.
