Obama Speaks on Extending Payroll Tax Cut

Update: It appears the House (Cantor and the tea party bunch) have relented.

Things are getting very strange. Fellow stodgy republican Mitch McConnell is calling on Boehner to bring the Senate bill up for a vote.
