Providence Rhode Island Fires 1,900 Teachers

The city fired all its teachers as a defensive measure to deal with the deficit. That way the city can keep only the ones it can afford. Folks don't realize that many cities and states are deep, deep in debt. Much of the stimulus money went to support state services. But now they're facing deficit realities.
