The KKK began as campaign to terrorize Jewish and Catholic immigrants. The klan felt that immigrants threatened society. Some things never change, huh? In the 1920s, KKK membership was more than 4 million. In the 1950s and 1960s, the KKK turned their hate on black people. In 1973, klan membership shrunk to around 1,500. One thing has held steady, the KKK has always found someone to hate.
