Readout of Obama's Call With Cameron on Aid Worker Linda Norgrove

The horrors of war: Aid worker Linda Norgrove was abducted in Afghanistan and may have been accidentally killed by U.S. troops during a rescue attempt.
The President called Prime Minister Cameron to offer his deepest condolences for the death of Linda Norgrove, whose service in Afghanistan represented her extraordinary commitment to advance the lives of others. The President and Prime Minister agreed that the rescue operation was necessary given the grave danger to Linda's life, and that U.S. forces had shown great courage. The Prime Minister and the President agreed that it was now essential to get to the bottom of what had happened in the course of the rescue operation. They looked forward to close co-operation between the UK and U.S. authorities on the investigation and agreed to stay in close touch as it moves forward.
