Obama Visits Los Angeles for Boxer April 19

Updated April 19: See video clips here.

Updated April 18: Obama will arrive at 8:25 pm eastern (5:25 pm in LA) and he will speak at the reception at 9 pm eastern and he'll speak again 9:40 pm and at the fundraising dinner at 11:45 eastern.

Updated April 16: The event is sold out. I'll post more details when they're available.

Sen. Barbara Boxer will be challenged by one of three republicans: Carly Fiorina, Tom Campbell or Chuck DeVore, backed by the tea party. Obama and Boxer will attend a 4:30 p.m. eastern reception at California Science Center. They will dine at the Natural History Museum with folks who paid $35,200 per couple. Reception tickets can be had for $250 per person. Buy tickets here.
U.S. Barbara Boxer may look shaky in the early polls against ANY Republican, but she continues to raise good coin: She raised $2.4 million through the first three months of 2010. That gives her $8.7 million in the bank, which she's squirreling away until after the June 8 primary, when she will learn who her Republican challenger will be.

Plus, in trumpeting their bosses strongest fundraising quater, Team Boxer touts "more than 71,000 donors to the campaign as of March 31. Ninety percent of contributions to the campaign in this period were $100 or less."

And now more good news for Boxer: President Obama has finally decided on April 19 as the day he's coming to LA to shake more money out of Hollywood's pocket for a BB fundraiser. Paging David Geffen. Paging David Geffen

We're told by two of the GOPers - former OC Assemblyman Chuck DeVore and ex-HP CEO Carly Fiorina -- that we shouldn't expect to learn their latest fundraising numbers until verrry close to Thursday's deadline. DeVore told us the other night that he's raised $1.8 million -- total -- since he's been running for Senate. No word on how much is still in his pocket. Campbell raised $1.6 million in the first quarter. Read more here.
