Politico: Afghan President Hamid Karzai’s May 12 visit is “absolutely” happening, said National Security Council chief of staff Denis McDonough. Jones called Karzai a “strategic partner” and said a letter from Obama was delivered to him this week, thanking him for his hospitality when Obama visited Afghanistan.
