Obama will speak at 11:15 am eastern. There will be a live stream at WhiteHouse.gov/live. At first, the republicans kept hammering Obama for jobs.
"Where are the jobs?" they'd ask, when most economists reported that the stimulus boosted the economy and created jobs. Want proof? Look at the economic report in any given city.
Clearly, many people have no idea of economic basics. But republicans must know that every step Obama takes to boost the economy is a boost for jobs. Cash for Clunkers? Jobs program. Making Home Affordable? Jobs program. Now that Obama is starting another jobs program, republicans say Obama's not doing enough about the deficit. Sometimes, I get so tired of paying attention to all this political silliness. If the republicans aren't going to be useful, then they should step away. Go work on something else.
